Terms of Service

1. Who can use Palabasa

• You must be at least 18 and a parent or legal guardian to create an account. You are responsible for the account and for the children you add to it.
• Children use Palabasa through your account, with your permission. You agree to supervise their use as you think right for their age.
• Keep your password private. Tell us at support@palabasa.com if you think someone else has used your account.

2. The service

Palabasa offers Filipino reading lessons, stories, riddles and practice for children. We are always improving it, so lessons, features and the look of the app may change. We may pause the service for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We do not promise any particular learning result; Palabasa supports, and does not replace, a parent's or a teacher's guidance.

3. Free and paid plans

• Free plan: some lessons and books are free for up to 2 children, with no time limit.
• Family plan: unlocks all lessons and books for up to 4 children, as a monthly or yearly subscription at the price shown on the plans page in the app and at checkout. Prices differ for purchases made from the Philippines; the region is read from your connection when you open the plans page. There is no free trial.
• Seller: subscriptions are sold by our reseller, Lemon Squeezy, which is the merchant of record. It handles payment, billing, taxes and receipts, and its own terms apply to the purchase.
• Renewal: a subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. We will tell you before a price change applies to your renewal.
• Cancelling: you can cancel any time from the parent area or the billing link in your receipt. You keep the paid plan until the end of the period you paid for; then the account returns to the free plan. See the Refund Policy.
• When a plan ends: your children's progress, rewards and history are kept. Lessons outside the free plan lock again, and if you have more children than the free plan allows, you choose which stay active; the others are paused, not deleted.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Palabasa for anything unlawful, or to harm a child;
• copy, resell, record or redistribute our lessons, stories, pictures, audio or other content outside the app;
• try to get into accounts or parts of the service that are not yours, overload it, or get around its limits or locks;
• scrape the service or use automated means to access it, except as the app itself does;
• send us messages that are abusive or contain other people's personal information.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you where we reasonably can.

5. Our content

The lessons, stories, illustrations, narration, the Tarsi character, the Palabasa name and the app are owned by us or our licensors, and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them in the app for your family while your account is active. Some content is made with the help of AI tools and is reviewed by people before release.

6. Your content

What you send us (for example feedback) stays yours. You let us use it to answer you and to improve Palabasa. We may use suggestions without owing you anything.

7. Privacy

How we handle your and your children's information is explained in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

8. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Palabasa and close your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy, section 8). We may end the service or your account with reasonable notice, or immediately for a serious breach of these terms. If we stop the whole service, we will refund the unused part of a prepaid subscription.

9. Disclaimers and liability

Palabasa is provided "as is". We work to keep it accurate and available, but we cannot promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you keep using Palabasa after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can cancel before they do.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Please contact us first at support@palabasa.com so we can try to fix the problem.
